Geraldine Witkovsky

Geraldine Witkovsky of The Colony, Texas, formerly of Caro, age 91, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at her residence. Geraldine was born May 28, 1926 in Caro, the daughter of the late Maurice and Claribel (Smith) Schafer. She was a Caro High School graduate and was united in marriage to Loren Willard Witkovsky on September 16, 1944 in Caro. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2002. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Geraldine was employed with the State of Michigan at the Caro Regional Center as an attendant nurse until her retirement in 1982. Following their retirement, the Witkovsky's moved to The Colony in Texas and spent much of their time traveling between Michigan and Texas to spend time with family. She was a lifelong member of the Nazarene faith, most recently The Lewisville Church of the Nazarene in Lewisville, Texas. She is survived by two sons, one daughter and their spouses, George & Norma Witkovsky of The Colony, Texas, Douglas & Linda Witkovsky of Oscoda, Loris & Tommy Overby of The Colony, Texas; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at the Ellington Township Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017 with Rev. Tim Steiner officiating.
