Gerri E. Wensko

Gerri E. Wensko of Gagetown, age 56, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Gerri was born November 27, 1964 in Pontiac, the daughter of the late Norman & Edith (Culbert) Parkin. She graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1982 and used the money she earned from working at area gas stations to put herself through school to become a nursing assistant. Following her certification, she began work at Lapeer Regional Hospital and later at several adult foster care homes and the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She had a special place in her heart for patients with Parkinson's Disease and dementia, assisting countless people with loving care and compassion. Gerri retired in 2009 to take on her most cherished role of homemaker and fixer of all things. She was united in marriage with Eric Wensko on September 21, 2013 at the Wahjamega Country Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed movies, puzzles, carpentry work and caring for her large lawn and animals. Gerri was happiest when surrounded by family and especially adored her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Eric Wensko of Gagetown; eight children and their spouses, Joel Glomski of Burton, Lisa Berlin (Brent Gross) of Gagetown, Earl & Donica Bennett of Caro, Rebecca & Marcus Adams, Tonya & Scott Abbe, Jennifer Bryant, Lorin Harshman, Jonathan Bryant; grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, Hailey, Aliyah Berlin, Lauren and Logan Glomski, Alana and Marcus Adams, Nathan, Hailey, Jason, and Cameron Bryant; two sisters, Margie Downing of Arizona, Debbie Bennett of Cass City; special cousin, Markus Ill of Millington; nephews, Bud and Tony Bennett of North Branch. In addition to her parents, Gerri was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Gracelynn Berlin. In keeping with Gerri's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro.
