Gilbert "Gib" Herman Mueller

Gilbert "Gib" H. Mueller, age 82, of Sebewaing, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017, at Covenant-Harrison Specialty Care Hospital in Saginaw.

Gilbert was born September 6, 1934, in Bay City, to Herman and Beatrice (Lange) Mueller. He married Marlene M. Schmid on July 5, 1958, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Marion, Iowa. Gilbert worked as an Elementary School Teacher, a Principal and at Huron Area Tech Center. He enjoyed being a high school sports official through the Bay Metro Officials Association for over 40 years. He also enjoyed watching U of M Football and the Detroit Tigers, doing yard work, working on cars, playing card games on the computer, and taking his wife out to eat. Gilbert also enjoyed sharing Christ with the residents at Lee Foster Home in Pigeon.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Marlene; children: Heidi (Paul) Stecker of Hemlock and Thomas (Angela) Mueller of Westland; grandchildren: Rachel (Josh) Tousignant of Saginaw and Megan (fiancé Mark Callaghan) Stecker of Darlington, England; step grandchildren: Carrie (James) Cunningham of Livonia and Amy (Ned) Timmerman of Howel; great grandchildren: Benjamin Gil Tousignant, Leah and Justin Cunningham, Tyler, Madalynn, Christian, Adrianna and Jacob Timmerman; brothers: Rev. Robert (Donna) Mueller and Gordon (Anita) Mueller.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Glenn (Nan) Mueller.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 10, 2017, from 2-8pm at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing.

The funeral service will be Friday, August 11, 2017, at New Salem Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place privately at Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City.

Memorial donations may be given to New Salem Lutheran Church and School or Lutheran Heritage Foundation.
