Gilbert Paul Mcfadden

Gilbert P. McFadden “G.P.Ski” age 76, of Caseville, died Friday December 9, 2005 at the Saginaw V.A. Medical Center of cancer.

Gilbert was born May 3, 1929 to the late Eugene and Anna (Stoia) McFadden in Detroit.

He grew up in Madison Heights and after high school he entered the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He was employed by General Electric in Southgate as a switchgear specialist for 27 years, retiring in 1982. On November 12, 1981 he married Jean Duffield and together they moved to Caseville permanently the next year, into the house he had built in the 1970's. He enjoyed off-road motorcycles, snowmobiles and fishing.

Gilbert is survived by his wife Jean; children Joan Wilson of Warren and Michael McFadden of Gotesville, Michigan; step children Joseph (Karen) Duffield of Lansing, Kenneth Duffield of Caseville and Beth Hacker of Onoway; grandson Joey Wilson; great-grandchildren Chase and Jersey Wilson; and step-grandchildren Arlene and Kayle Duffield and Kaiah and Alex Hacker.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 7, 2006 at St. Roch Catholic Church Caseville at 11:00A.M. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville.
