Gladys Laverne “Flo” Blackmer Walling, 80, of Caseville, passed away on Good Friday, April 7, 2023 at home under hospice with her daughter by her side.
“Flo” was born June 20, 1942 in Caro to the late Sam and Gladys (Wilkenson) Haight of Silverwood. Flo worked 30 years at the Riverside Bar in Caseville for Milt and Darlene Serviss and then for Ruthann Lapka and Carrie Sprague at Walt’s Restaurant in Caseville for several years before retiring due to health reasons. Flo enjoyed fishing, crocheting, knitting and spending time with her family and friends.
Flo is survived by her children Kathy “Kate” Blackmer (Dave Pitcher) of Caseville, Linda Blackmer (Mark Atkin) of Gagetown, Ernie Blackmer of Caseville, Eddie Blackmer of Caseville, Melody Chobany of Carp Lake and Beth Blackmer Jozwiak of Port Huron; grandchildren Tanya Archambault, Doug (Dot) Armstrong, Chase Blackmer (Cameron), Eddie Blackmer (Dana Hartman), Aaron Blackmer, and Amanda Reyna (Amy).
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Walling, step children Joann Emerick, John Blackmer, Michael Blackmer, and Carolyn Rayl; and her brother and sister-in-law Sam and Theresa Brush.
A celebration of life will be at a later date. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Elkton next to her husband. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
