Gladys I. Dawkins, age 88, of Sand Point died Saturday morning, July 24, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe.
She was born August 22, 1915 in Sherbrooke, British Columbia, Canada to the late E. Stanley and Lillian (Nunn) Warrington.
On November 10, 1937 she was united in marriage to Ferdinand Pringnitz in Royal Oak. He preceded her in death, June 29, 1964. To this union a son was born, Glenn Pringnitz, who passed away in May 23, 1982.
Gladys married Howard Dawkins February 5, 1972 in Royal Oak.
She was a homemaker most of her life and started coming to Sand Point's south shore in the mid fifties. They moved to their cottage permanently in 1972, spending their winters in Bradenton, FL. Howard preceded her in death, June 28, 2000. For the past year Gladys made her home at Country Gardens in Pigeon and had been at the Medical Care Facility only a few days. She enjoyed walking the shoreline, fishing and playing cards with friends.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Cathy (Pringnitz) Wright and her husband, Donald of Sand Point.
A memorial service will be conducted 12:00 noon Wednesday, July 28, at the William Sullivan & Son Funeral Home on Eleven Mile in Royal Oak where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of services Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
