Glen Elwin Maguire, age 73, of Caro, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Covenant Harrison in Saginaw. He was born on June 29, 1935 in Detroit to the late Claude and Elizabeth (Hodges) Maguire. Glen came to Juniata Township in 1945 and graduated from Caro High School in 1954. He worked at Clark Canning Company during his school years. After graduation, he went to work as a machine repairman at Saginaw Steering Gear where he worked for 36 years. On October 1, 1955 Glen was united in marriage to the former Barbara Hoeldtke in Caro. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2004. Pat has enjoyed eighteen years of retirement, much of that time with his family, hunting, fishing, going to the cabin, casino trips, and his buddies at both the Eagles and the Moose where he held memberships. He is survived by four children and their spouses, Michael (Victoria) Maguire of Caro, Cheryl (Terry) Cramer of Bad Axe, Pam (Dave) Trombley of Reese and Scott (Kathy) Maguire of Caro; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his siblings, John Maguire and Ruth of Caro, Ed (Arlene) Maguire of Curtis and Lil (Ed) McAlpine of Fairgrove,; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Glen was preceded in death by an infant brother, Frank. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will be at Juniata Township Cemetery in Watrousville. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Watrousville United Methodist Church.
