Glen Norrington, age 69 years, of Dickerson Road, Akron, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at his residence. He was born on September 5, 1937 in Akron and was a lifelong resident. Glen graduated from Akron High School, and on March 11, 1971 he married the former Carol Adams. Much of Glens life centered around farming and in later years he became an owner-operator of his own semi. The Norringtons were foster care providers with an excess of 35 kids going through their home. He was a member of the Caro Assembly of God Church, local CB radio clubs, and the Flying Farmers. He occupied his spare time with cooking, the game of pool, and refurbishing his plane. Glen is survived by his wife, Carol Norrington; their children, Tina (Harold Jr.) Lineske of Sonora, Kentucky, Shelly (Lloyd) Scharf of Unionville, Holly (Phillip II) Hudson of Akron, Robert (Gwen) Norrington of Maine, Joe Norrington of Maine, Beth Norrington of Vassar and John Norrington of Caro; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Ardis Norrington of Hampton Township; his brother, Larry (Jacquelyn) Norrington of Akron; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; and a son, David Norrington. The funeral service will be held at the Caro Assembly of God Church on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Dietzel officiating. Burial will be at Demorest Cemetery, Akron Township. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Glen Norrington family discretionary fund, c/o Carol Norrington.
