Glendora Babcock

Glendora Babcock of Cass City, age 81, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw, following a lingering illness. She was born October 9, 1932 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Elliot Glen & Jenny M. (Crawford) Churchill, and was a lifelong area resident. She was united in marriage with Gerald H. Babcock on February 21, 1953 in Caro at the Caro First Baptist Church, where they continued their membership. Glendora was employed at the Cass City and Caro Walbro Plants for over twenty-five years, retiring in 1997. Glendora is survived by her husband of over sixty-one years, Gerald H. Babcock, Sr. of Cass City; two sons, two daughters and their spouses, Sandy & Gary Lindquist of Lapeer, Gerald Babcock, Jr. of Tampa, Florida, Rebecca Melton of South Carolina, Randy & Andria Babcock of Cass City; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six sisters and one brother, Marion Hunter of Mayville, Margret Springstead of Pigeon, Helen Dors of Cass City, Amy Ford of Cass City, Bonnie Miller of Elkton, Jackie Osborn of Shelby Township, and Glen (Bonnie) Churchill of Cass City and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Glendora was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services have been planned.
