Gloria Jean Fruchey

Gloria Jean Fruchey of Fairgrove, Michigan, most recently a resident of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, January 9, 2026. Gloria was born January 29, 1945 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Bernard and Amelia (Dudek) Czelada. Gloria attended Fairgrove High School and graduated with the Class of 1962. She continued her education at the University of Michigan, proudly earning her degree as a Medical Technologist in 1966. Gloria dedicated thirty-five years of her professional life to the medical field, serving as a med tech and lab supervisor at Caro Community Hospital and Bay Medical Center. On August 17, 1968, she married the love of her life, Gary Fruchey. Together they shared over forty-two years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, family, and faith, until Gary’s passing in 2010. Gloria was a lifelong parishioner of St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro, until relocating to Henderson, Kentucky, where she became an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Her faith guided her life and remained a constant source of strength.

Gloria was an avid sports fan who loved cheering on her University of Michigan Wolverines, the Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Tigers. Above all else, Gloria’s greatest joy was her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she wore her most cherished title, “Buscia,” with immense pride.

Left to honor Gloria’s memory are two daughters and their spouses, Christina (Grillon) and her husband, Kurt Wiesen of Henderson, Kentucky, and Candace Rinke and her husband, Kurt, of Springboro, Ohio; grandchildren, Josh, Nicole (Joe), Hew, Dustin (Cassie), Nicole (Dane), Brooke Rose (Nick), Kelsie, Josiah, Lauren, Nick, Hayley, and Noah; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Michael (Sally) Czelada, David (Karen) Czelada, and Mary (Michael) Findlay. In addition to her parents and husband, Gloria was preceded in death by a great-niece, Savannah Grace.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro with Rev. Isaac Madanu officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove. Gloria’s family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Funeral Home – Caro on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 beginning at 4:00 p.m. and concluding with a rosary service at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will take place again at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
