Gloria Jean Fulkerth

Gloria Jean Fulkerth of Ortonville, age 79, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital in Flint. Gloria was born July 11, 1943, the daughter of the late Fred and Mona (Hutson) Yoho. She was united in marriage with Lawrence Fulkerth on June 29, 1963 at Lawrence's mother's house. Sadly, he preceded her in death on September 20, 2001. Gloria was a foster mom to many through the years, even winning "foster mom of the year" for Oakland County. She enjoyed spending time with family and was happiest when her house was full. Gloria also enjoyed going to the casino and especially spoiling the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She retired from K-Mart after more than thirty years of employment. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Laura Gray and husband, Jeffrey; son, Gary Fulkerth and daughter-in-law, Tina Merenuk; two grandchildren, Nick (Mel Hosner) Fulkerth and Kay DeJesus and husband, Matt; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Yoho; many nieces and nephews; and her lifelong friend, Norma Wauchek. Gloria was also a foster mom to Angelique Clark, Shaneice Watkins, Mariah Farrar, and Kiara Ridling-Foster. In addition to her parents and husband, Gloria was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence; one sister, Marilyn Chuhak, and one brother, Fred Yoho. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the Christian Memorial Cemetery chapel in Rochester Hills.
