Gloria Gean Ray

Gloria Gean Ray, age 77, of Bay Port, passed away suddenly from injuries sustained in a car accident on August 20, 2025. Gloria had strong faith in her Lord and Savior.

Gloria was born November 13, 1947, in Flint, to Chester and Helen (Ates) Galvas. After graduating from high school, she married David A. Ray on February 4, 1967, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Flint. Gloria was proud to be a homemaker, taking care of her husband, children and keeping a clean house. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, baking, crossword puzzles, word searches, watching television, going on family vacations, boating, camping, fishing, hunting, bird watching, listening to music, reading her bible and prayer time. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Caseville.

Gloria is survived by her husband, David; two children: Jeffrey "Scott" (Tammy) Ray of Bay Port and Linda (Steve) Ryan of Thetford Twp.; grandson, Jeffrey S. (Kendra) Ray, Jr.; great grandson, Jeffrey S. Ray, III; siblings: Pat (Jim) Goad, Ron (Faye) Galvas, Howard (Cathy) Galvas and Barbara Schmitter; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, August 25, 2025 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 1pm with the service at 2pm. Burial will be at New Bay Port Cemetery, Fairhaven Twp., with a luncheon to follow.

Memorial donations may be given to Calvary Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
