Goldie Langworthy

Goldie M. Langworthy of Caro, age 84, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at St. Marys of Michigan following a very brief illness. She was born July 22, 1928 in Deford, the daughter of the late J. W. & Minnie E. (Forner) Boughan and was a lifelong area resident. Goldie graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1946 and from the Tuscola County Normal School in 1947 and taught in rural schools for the next three years. She was united in marriage with Warren L. Langworthy in 1949. Goldie was employed at the Caro Regional Center as a resident aide for twenty-five years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the LaMotte Missionary Church near Marlette. During her free time, Goldie enjoyed camping, cooking and bird watching. Goldie is survived by three children, Goldie Jean Langworthy of Caro, Karen Ann Markel of Lowell, Diana Lynn Hill and her husband, Tim of Caro; four grandchildren, Dirk Langworthy of Texarkana, Texas, Gabriel Roninski of Grand Rapids, Lydia Magiera and her husband R. J. of Caro, Geoffrey Nostrant of Seoul, South Korea; two great-granddaughters, Bryanna Clark of Caro, Kassandra Langworthy of Texarkana, Texas; four step-grandsons, Chris, Louis and Ryan Markel, and Patrick Hill; one step-granddaughter, Brittany Thompson; one step-great-granddaughter, Abygail; one sister, Gladys E. Foster of Fairgrove; two sisters-in-law, Irene Boughan of North Branch, Jean M. Boughan of Okinawa, Japan; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Scott Langworthy, an attorney in San Francisco, in 1991; one grand-daughter, Angelique Lynn Clark in 2005; four brothers, George, John E., Robert C. and Chester Boughan; three sisters, Esther Babcock Clink, Bertha Erickson and Mabel Pheifer. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Tom Brink of the Lamotte Missionary Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Family Life Radio (WUGN) in Midland or to the Bryanna C.
