Gordon Ellis Lapratt

Gordon Ellis LaPratt of Unionville, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 2, 2023. Gordy was born November 24, 1962 in Cass City, the son of the late Douglas LaPratt and Betty (Molnar) LaPratt. He graduated from U.S.A. High School with the class of 1980. Gordy worked as a truck driver hauling gravel and at Michigan Sugar Company, retiring in 2021. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and raising his pigeons. Gordy was always friendly and would help anyone in need, he will be missed dearly.

Gordy leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings, Douglas LaPratt, Jr., Mark (Julee) LaPratt, Donald LaPratt, Debra Sy, Susan (fiancé, Dean Sweeney) Mardlin, and Antoine (Jennifer) LaPratt; many nieces and nephews; special companions, Pretty Eyes & Brownie the pigeons, and Cherokee the hunting dog; along with several friends. In addition to his parents, Gordy was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Pat LaPratt.

In keeping with Gordy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial is being planned for a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
