Grace D. Finkbeiner, 81, of Elkton, died Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Bay County Medical Care Facility.
Grace was born April 12, 1938 in Fairhaven Twp to the Albert and Stella (Beadle) Deming. She attended Ridge School. On November 3, 1956 she married Clare Finkbeiner at Kilmanagh E.U.B. Church; he preceded her in death December 18, 2017. She retired from Laker Schools after driving school bus for 40 years. Her greatest passion was in support of area youth, through her involvement with the Laker Boosters, Elkton Youth Center, and in supporting local youth sports programs. She was a member of the Elkton Lions. She could be found working at the concession stand at Youth Center Events and the Huron County Fair. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Grace is survived by her sons Rodney (Tammy) of Lake and Roger (Diane) of Sebewaing; grandchildren Shelly (Noel), Michael (Julie), Kara (Chuck), Jessica (Earl), Courtney, and Jordan (Rebecca); 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Bill (Julie) Deming of Saginaw, Albert Deming of Bay Port, Frank (Wilma) Deming of Bay Port and Herb (Elaine) Deming of Caro. She was preceded in death by her son Jeffery; sisters Daisy Hinton and Agnes Killingbeck and brothers Darl, Pete and David Deming.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, October 5th at Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon with Rev. Karen Bouverette officiating. Interment will be in Grand Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 Friday.
Memorials may be made to Laker Boosters or the Elkton Lions Club.
