Grace S. Young

Grace S. Young, age 74, of Elkton died Thursday morning, April 17, at the home of her daughter while under hospice care.
She was born February 20, 1929, in Memphis, MI and moved, when she was a child, to a farm just west of Rescue in Grant Twp. with her parents, the late Wilbert and Gladys (Duffield) Ellis.
On April 7, 1951, she was united in marriage to Charles H. Young at the Church of the Nazarene, Gagetown. Grace and Charlie raised their family on a farm southeast of Elkton where they lived all their married life. Charlie preceded her in death December 10th of last year.
Grace had many hobbies, including putting together puzzles, reading, raising houseplants, flowers and a garden. She was also very talented with a crochet hook, lovingly making afghans and pillows for her kids, grandkids and others. She attended the Church of the Nazarene, Gagetown.
Surviving are seven children, Linda Wetter of Yale, Sally (Brian) Sweeney of Ubly, Leonard Young of Flint, Elaine (Don) Long, Edward, Robert and Ronald Young all of Bad Axe; thirteen grandchildren, Janice, Paula, Roger, Sarah, Eddie, Imagene, Leonard, Jason, Sylinda, Steven, Cari, Robbie and Matthew and three great grandchildren, McKayla, Isabella & Blake; her brother, Winton (Violet) Ellis of Lupton and a sister-in-law, Betty Ellis of Gagetown.
Preceding her in death were her son-in-law, Harry Wetter; two brothers, Lyle and Floyd Ellis and two sisters, Edna Ellis and Ilene Nutt.
A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton where friends may call from 2 to 9 PM Friday.

Memorials may be given to the Cancer Society or Hospice.
