Grant Kelley

Grant W. Kelley, age 90, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. He was born May 7, 1921 in Cass City, the son of the late Jessie & Olive Bertha (Hicks) Kelley and was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Caro High School in 1939. He attended Central Michigan College of Education for a couple of years before joining the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following the war, he graduated from Central in 1949 with a B.S. degree in Education. Grant was very active as a volunteer, representing veterans in their claims or concerns for most of his working life, at the Aleda E. Lutz Veterans Administration Medical Center in Saginaw and received many awards and commendations for his efforts. Grant was a Life Member and past Commander of the Caro V.F.W. Post #4164 and a proud member of the Caro American Legion Post #7 and the D.A.V. Grant is survived by several cousins.
