Gregory Abke

Gregory Dean Abke, age 58, passed away suddenly Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Marlette Regional Hospital. Greg was born June 17, 1950, the son of George & Betty (Klein) Abke, and graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1968. Greg continued to live in Caro until he was united in marriage with Barbara E. Woods in Marlette on December 2, 1972, at which time the couple moved to Kingston. He was employed for thirty-two years with Eaton Foundry, which later became Grede Foundry, in Vassar. Greg was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, and was a former coach with the Kingston Little League. Surviving is his loving wife of nearly thirty-six years, Barbara E. Abke of Kingston; his parents, George & Betty Abke of Caro; four sisters and their spouses, Judy & Ron Clarkson, Beth & Jeff Mellendorf, Linda & Bill Henderson, Denise & Dean Keilitz, all of Caro; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by one brother, Randy Abke in 1980; a nephew, Grant Clarkson and a great nephew, Bradley Shrontz.
