Gregory H. "Putt" Putnam

Gregory H. "Putt" Putnam, Sr. of Caro, age 57, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on January 1, 2022, following a courageous battle with cancer. Greg was born July 1, 1964, the son of the late David & Betty (Wilber) Putnam. He was a lifelong resident of Caro, where he also attended high school. Greg was united in marriage with Jennette Antholzner on August 29, 1992 in Lockport, New York, and she survives. Most of Greg's working years were spent as a pole haul operator with Harlan Electric in Rochester Hills through the IBEW Local 17 in a career that spanned over twenty-five years. He retired in 2016 and could finally focus his attention on his grandchildren, whom he adored. He also had varied interests that included playing the drums, tinkering in his workshop, four wheeling, and placing a bet on anything he could. Greg also had the love of harness racing that runs generations deep in the Putnam family. He was a loving dad and made a convincing argument to his five children that each was his favorite. Left to cherish Greg's memory are his wife, Jennette Putnam of Caro; five children and their spouses, Angie & Tony Solinski of Essexville, Jeremy Putnam and his significant other, Corinna Gusa, of Cass City, Krissy & Brian Stine of Caro, Hayley & Matt Sakon of Caro, Gregory "Buddy" Putnam, Jr. and his significant other, Grace Hill, of Caro; eleven grandchildren, Landyn, Anthony, Sydney, Kacey, Emma, Myla, Zacc, Matthew, Jr., Bentley, Owen, and Hannah; siblings and their spouses, Teri Ward of Waterford, Scott & Heidi Putnam of Caro, Robert & Barb Fox of Troy; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by one brother, William D. Putnam in 2018. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro.
