Harlan A. Christner, age 68, of Tucson, formerly of Pigeon died Wednesday evening, January 17, at Marlette Regional Hospital, Hospice Unit.
He was born December 10, 1938 in Pigeon to the late Oarie and Ruth (Rook) Christner.
Harley graduated from Pigeon High School and attended Bay City Junior College for one year. In 1958; he joined the US Air Force returning to Pigeon in 1962. He then went to Wayne State University where he received a bacholar's degree in business. Harley stayed at Wayne State several years as a counselor. In 1980, he moved to Tucson and was a professor at Pima Community College, where he taught business courses. He retired last summer for health reasons, and returned to Huron County. In his free time he enjoyed photography.
Surviving are two sons, David and Dan Christner of Tucson, AZ; a daughter, Beth (Jim) Warner of Commerce Twp.; two grandchildren, Lauren and Nicholas; two brothers, Gary (Janet) Christner of Tucson and Dennis Christner of American Canyon, CA and two sisters, Joyce (Richard) Deering of Sandusky and Shirley (Bill) McGee of Elkton.
Funerals services will be conducted 7:00 PM Monday, January 22, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton with Rev. Gerald Meyer, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cass City officiating. Friends may call from 2 PM until the time of service Monday.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
