Harley Dorman Sr.

Harley Dorman, Sr. of Caro, age 83, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Harley was born November 24, 1934 in Shabbona, the son of the late Voyle and Marian (Groombridge) Dorman. He was united in marriage with the former Sandra Cooper on March 28, 1980 in Shabbona. Harley was employed with General Motors for thirty-four years, retiring as a tinsmith. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church and focused his spare time as an evangelist. Harley also enjoyed flying as a private pilot, sailing and travelling. He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Sandra Dorman of Caro; five children and their spouses, Tanya Jo Batschke & Bob Eschenbacher of Caro, Tamara Dorman of Caro, Harley Dean & Kristi Dorman, II of Ada, Kelly & Dennis Nye of Pigeon, Kristie & Greg Hutchison of Caro; step-daughter, Kimberly Page of Bay City; nineteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three sisters and their spouses, Yvonne Roe of Sandusky, Janice & John Mika of Shabbona and Karen & Robert Sawdon of Oak Grove, Missouri; one brother, Wilbur & Carol Dorman of Marlette; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harley was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dean Smith. In keeping with Harley's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Elder Jerry Bernhardt officiating.
