Harlon Leon Bedore of Unionville, age 92, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community. Harlon was born July 25, 1931 in Ashmore, the son of the late Gerald and Clarissa (Bolzman) Bedore. He graduated from Unionville High School with the class of 1950. Harlon was a truck driver for Lee Wood, retiring after thirty-four dedicated years. He was a member of Our Lady of Consolata Parish and the Knights of Columbus in both Unionville and Caro. Harlon enjoyed cutting the grass for all the children in Ashmore. He had the best laugh and you could always tell it was him by how unique it was. Harlon loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, he always made sure to pay attention to each and every one of them.


Harlon leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Shirley A. (Gamm) Bedore; children & their spouses, Louise & Dan Hodges of Caro, Terry & Dora Bedore of El Paso/Unionville, Shery Bedore of Unionville, Lee Bedore of Bay City, Chris & Christina Bedore of Unionville, and Kirt & Kayla Bedore of Unionville; grandchildren, Brian (Rebecca) Sting, Sara (Justin) Carter, Michelle (Brandon Hodges-Pietryka, Nicole (Greg) Bills-Hodges, Melissa (Carissa) Mattison, Sherley (Chris) Rios, Joshua Bedore, Jonathon (Jordina) Bedore, Jarred (Trudy) Lefler, Jacob (Samantha) Lefler, Zach Lefler, Christian Lefler, Shelby Powell-Bedore, Mia Bedore, Josie Bedore, Kayla Blunt, and Kelly Bedore; twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Harlon was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Bedore; grandson, Richard Peterson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gertrude and Russell Gamm; sister & brother-in-law, Yvonne & Loren Finkbeiner.


A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Our Lady Consolata Parish in Sebewaing at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Robert J. Pare’ will officiate with burial following at Our Lady Consolata Cemetery in Sebewaing. The family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Fire Department walk through at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. On Saturday, the family will be present to receive visitors at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of his service.
