Harold Cregeur

Harold Cregeur of Caro, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Heritage Hills Assisted Living in Caro. Harold was born August 27, 1920 in Harbor Beach, the son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Mousseau) Cregeur. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Harold was united in marriage with the former Dorothy Currie on January 3, 1942 in Harbor Beach, and after seventy-three years of marriage, Dorothy preceded him in death on February 26, 2015. Harold was employed as skilled trades with General Motors more than twenty years, prior to his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and jigsaw puzzles. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Carol Corkins and her husband, Gary, of Caro, and Judy Reid of Caro; five grandchildren, Angela Wright, Chad Gilkey, Kyle Reid, Julie Wright and her husband, Frank, and Jennifer Edgerton; four great-grandchildren, Marvin, Aston and Maddox Wright, and Jason Edgerton; one brother, Bernard Cregeur and his wife, Geneva, of Westland. In addition to his parents and wife, Harold was preceded in death by five siblings, Bernice Klump, Theresa Pointeau, Luella Howard, Bill Cregeur and Jim Cregeur. In keeping with Harold's wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
