Harold Edward Randall died at home surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, December 1, after a lengthy and brave experience with cancer at the age of 65. Born November 23, 1950, Harry was the son of Sam and Majorie (Cregeur) Randall and married the former Peggy Tenbusch on August 19, 1972, at Ruth SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Harold was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro, where he was also a past member of the Sacred Heart Men's Choir and served on the Parish Council. Civic involvement was a priority for Harold who served as Mayor of the City of Bad Axe for two terms and as a member of City Council previous to that. Among accomplishments during his tenure of service to Bad Axe was establishment of the Central Huron Ambulance Authority and Downtown Development Authority. After moving from Bad Axe to Caro in 1985, Harry served on the Almer Township Zoning Commission from 2011 to present and was president of the Caro Baseball Federation. He also served many years and held numerous offices in the Michigan Jaycees and was awarded the highest recognition given by the Michigan Jaycees, JCI Senator 26906. Harold was employed at Hamill Manufacturing in Ubly for eleven years in machine repair and at Consumers Energy for thirty years where he was a field leader in gas operations. Harold is a Vietnam War veteran and served in the Army from 1969-1971. He was honorably discharged and received many commendations including the Bronze Star. Harry was generous, a gracious host, and loved spending time with his family. He greatly enjoyed being involved in a home-improvement project fixing and improving the operation or looks of something. Harry was a do-it-yourself kind of guy; and, by example, he and his wife taught their four sons the value of hard work and initiative. Harry also loved golfing and playing cards with his many friends, and he greatly enjoyed deer hunting at the Buckhorn property. He was also an avid reader and found much enjoyment spending time at their vacation home in Fort Myers, Florida. Besides Peggy, Harold is survived by the pride of his life-his four sons: Jason Randall of New Baltimore, Cavitt and Kimberly (Potter) Randall of West Bloomfield, Matthew Randall of Auburn Hills, and Jordan Randall of Caro. Harry leaves nine cherished and beautiful grandchildren: Sebastien Jordan (17), Valin (11) and Emma (10) Randall, Brooklyn (7) and Stella (5) Randall, Maxx (4) and Myles (2) Randall, and Hailey (10) and Cole (7) Randall. Harold is also survived by two brothers, Leonard (Fay) Randall of Bad Axe and David (Helen) Randall of Kawkawlin; two sisters, Kay (Dave) Peruski of Bad Axe, and Grace (the late Rick) Hearsch of Bad Axe; four sisters-in-law, Diane (Frank) Godi of Frankenmuth, Judy (Art) Matuszewski of Frankenmuth, Alicia (Rich) Mazure of Grand Blanc, Sally (Chuck) Bellsky of Frankenmuth; and two brothers-in-law, Joe (Marla) Tenbusch of Hale and Jim (Gretchen) Tenbusch of Bad Axe; and many close nieces and nephews. Harry was also blessed with many really good and treasured friends in his life, a gift he highly valued.
