Harold W. Sy, Sr.

Harold W. Sy, Sr. age 91, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Harold was born May 15, 1919 to the late John & Katherine (Menzel) Sy in Unionville. He was in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. On October 19, 1946 he married Dorothy Lehman at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville.

Harold worked as a self employed mechanic for 35 years and was a volunteer fireman for Unionville for 24 years. Harold was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville and a member of the American Legion Post #421.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Lehman) Sy. His children Harold, Jr. (Carolyn) Sy, Sandra (Michael) Kotenko, and Christine (Michael) Maxwell. He is the proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren and great grandfather of 7 great grandchildren. He is survived by one sister, Shirley Keyser.

He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Harold is predeceased by his brothers Alfred, Clarence, Arnold, and Melvin.

Visitation at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, Sebewaing on Friday, November 19, 2010 from 1-9pm.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 20, 2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Visiting at the Church will begin at 10am until the time of service begins at 11am.

Burial will take place at Columbia Twp. Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, the ACW Ambulance, or the donor's choice.
