Harriet Fader

Harriet R. Fader, age 86 years, of Caro passed away on Monday, April 23, 2007 at Tendercare in Cass City. She was born on March 21, 1921 in Caro, daughter of the late Earl and Gertrude (Wilson) VanGuilder. Harriet was a lifelong resident of Caro and a graduate of the Caro High School class of 1939. On December 26, 1956 the former Harriet VanGuilder married Merkel Fader in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2006. Harriet was employed for more than eighteen years as an attendant nurse at the Caro Regional Center. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and sewing in her younger years. She was a member of the Caro V.F.W. Auxillary. Harriet is survived by her three children, Karen Craig of Caro, Barbara and Bob Emery of Ocala, Florida and Fred Fader of Caro; three grandchildren, Lea Ann (Jerry) Kelley of Arizona, Chuck (Dorothy) Emery of California, Danny (Linda) Emery of California; several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Harriet was preceded in death by her siblings, Myron VanGuilder and Dola Simerson; and a granddaughter, Susan Emery. Keeping with Harriets wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation at the Collon Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to charity of the donors choice.
