Harriet A. Fibranz of Caro, age 85, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw. Harriet was born April 26, 1930 in Caro, the daughter of the late Harrison & Mable (Parmenter) Sutherland. She resided in Caro for the remainder of her life, and attended the June Country School and Caro Community Schools. On November 6, 1948, the former Harriet Sutherland was united in marriage with Otto Fibranz in Pigeon, and he preceded her in death on January 30, 1987. She was employed as an Attendant Nurse at the Caro Regional Center until her retirement in April of 1985. Harriet was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Caro Auxiliary Post #4164, and S.E.R.A. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great- and great-great-grandmother, and enjoyed watching television and reading, and was known to be somewhat strong minded. Harriet is survived by five children and their spouses, Dennis & Linda Langley of Caro, Lt. Col. William Fibranz USAF (Ret.) and his wife, Jennifer, of Richardson, Texas, Edward & Connie Fibranz of Vassar, Karen & Michael Yens, Sr. of Silverwood, Brenda & Duane Will of Vassar. Harriet was blessed with fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Harriet was preceded in death by three daughters, Connie Fibranz, Gail Myers and Charlotte LeBlanc; and four sisters, Loretta, Norma, Bertha and Dorothy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Almer Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. A V.F.W. Auxiliary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
