Harold “Harry” Ropp, age 83, of Pigeon passed away Wednesday morning, February 22, at his home following a long battle with health problems.

He was born January 29, 1934, in Winsor Twp at the home of his parents, the late Elmer and Mary (Keim) Ropp Sr. and grew up in the Pigeon. After high school, Pigeon Class of 1952, he worked at the Bay Port Quarry for a while and at Michigan Sugar before taking a position at Pigeon Manufacturing. He drove truck for them 31 years, retiring in 1994.

Harry was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church, Pigeon, was a league bowler for many years and coached, managed and umpired Little League for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Millie; two sons, Jim Ropp of Pigeon and Troy (Michelle) Ropp of Harrison Twp.; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Duane (Elaine) Ropp of Pigeon and Leon (Patsy) Ropp of Bradenton, FL; two sisters, Grace (John) Blair of Bad Axe and Carolyn (Charlie) Moyer of Winchester, VA.

Preceding him in death were his son, Gregg Ropp; brothers, Elmer Jr. and Lyle Ropp and his sister, Catherine Miller.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no funeral or memorial service.
