Harvey Don Weller

Harvey Don Weller of Caro, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Harvey was born March 12, 1934 in Marlette, the son of the late Jasper and Grace (Smith) Weller. He went to work as a young man at the Tuscola County Road Commission until being drafted in 1956 to serve in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea. Upon his honorable discharge in 1958, he returned to the Road Commission where he served as a heavy equipment operator and foreman for forty years, retiring in 1996. On September 17, 1960, Harvey was united in marriage with the love of his life, Wanda Marie Spencer, and the couple looked forward to celebrating sixty years of marriage later this year. In his earlier days, Harvey enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a hard worker and talented builder. His memory will live in the family home he built and the countless projects he completed with family and friends. Harvey is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Weller of Caro; three children, Carol Fox of Caro, David Weller (Dorothy Janowiak) of Sandusky, Larry Weller (Becki Bushong) of Caro; two grandchildren and their spouses, Ashley & Robert Droelle of Caro, Linda & Jeremy Wylie of Kingston; three great-grandchildren, Promise Droelle, Madison Wylie, and Braden Wylie; his brother, Henry Weller of Oregon; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by a son, Gary Weller; and brother, Harry Weller. Funeral services with military honors to follow will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. A private committal service will take place later at Novesta Township Cemetery.
