Hazel M. Mcilhargie

Hazel M. McIlhargie age 98, of Lake Twp. died Thursday morning, May 7, at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe.
She was born April 16, 1911 at the home of her parents, the late Henry and Marie (Rhode) Herzog in Chandler Twp.
On August 13, 1929, she was united in marriage to Cyril McIlhargie at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon. Cyril preceded her in death, January 23, 1976.
Hazel was a member of St. Francis until her marriage and transferred to St. Felix, Pinnebog, where she has been a member for almost 80 years. She had also been a very active member of St. Felix Altar Society.
Hazel enjoyed baking, working in her yard and gardening, growing vegetables and flowers. She also loved to spend as much time as possible with her grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.
Surviving are eight children, Mabel (Harry) Lenda of Owendale, Frank (Nancy) McIlhargie, Richard (Louise) McIlhargie, Conrad McIlhargie and Brad (Diane) McIlhargie all of Caseville, Marlene (Guy) Schram of Livingston, MT, Linda McIlhargie of Alamogordo, NM and Gloria (David) Cobb of Flushing; three step children, Frances Armbruster of Pigeon, Reily Thiel of Saginaw and Leo (Mary) McIlhargie of Caseville; 35 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren; three sisters, Irene Renn of Lincoln Park, Marilyn Herzog of Wood Haven and Frances Taylor of Decatur, IL and a brother, Bob Herzog of Pigeon.
Preceding her in death were two children, Janice and Aloysius McIlhargie and siblings, Vince, Arnold, Roland and Richard Herzog and Viola Christie.
A funeral mass will be conducted 12 noon Monday, May 11, at St. Felix Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Yaroch, pastor will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 8 PM Sunday and at the church after 11:00 AM Monday.
Memorial may be given to St. Felix.
