Hazel Anna Miller

Hazel Anna Miller of Caro, age 98, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Vadavilla Adult Foster Care Home in Unionville. Hazel was born July 30, 1915 in Bach, the daughter of the late Otto & Mina (Gremel) Neu. She was united in marriage with Martin Miller on August 22, 1943 in Caro, and he preceded her in death on November 18, 1997. Hazel spent her working years at the Caro Regional Center in the kitchen. She was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro, loved to be around people and playing cards. Hazel is survived by four sons and their spouses, Kenneth & Joanne Nowland of Caro, Donald & Sharon Nowland of Wisconsin, Keith & Sandra Nowland of California, Marvin Nowland of Davison; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sally Tacia of Plymouth. In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Ingles Fredericks; brother, Harold Neu; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Nowland; and grandson, Richard Nowland. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Bach.
