Helen J. Hatlas

Helen J. Hatlas, age 93, of Grant Twp, died Friday morning, March 10, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility.
She was born June 19, 1912, in Jersey City, NJ to the late Stanley and Lucy (Suchocka) Brecht. She moved to the Detroit area in her youth and graduated from Northeastern High School. She was employed at Electrolux in Detroit until she married.
On June 1, 1940, she was united in marriage to Mike V. Hatlas in at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon.
Helen was very active in the farm and dairy operation with her husband, Mike. She loved to make quilts and was an avid bowler. She and Mike spent many winters in Zehperhills, FL.
Helen was a former member of the Huron County Ladies Extension Service and St. Columbkille Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.
Surviving are her husband of over 65 years, Mike; children, Michael Hatlas of Grant Twp., Diana (Fred) Kausch of Grand Twp and Marlene (William) Coleman of Linden; daughter-in-law, Jennie; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
