Helen Huntley

Helen Huntley, age 91 of Bay Port, passed away Thursday evening, December 8, 2016 at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe.

Born in New Haven, Connecticut on September 14, 1925, she was the daughter of Charles Joseph and Cora M (Patterson) Norton. On October 2, 1946 she was united in marriage to Gilvie Huntley. He preceded her in death. For years Mr. and Mrs. Huntley would visit Bay Port while they lived in North Carolina. In 2006 she moved to Bay Port to be near her daughters. She dearly loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Helen also enjoyed reading.

Her survivors include her daughter Cathleen Alexander of Bay Port and her sons, Pete and William Huntley both of North Carolina; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Norton of Connecticut and Charles Norton of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Patricia Anne Fritz, three brothers, Ernest, Carl and Joe Norton; and a sister, June Patterson.

There will be no local service as cremation will take place at Sunset Valley Crematory, Bay City. Interment will be in North Carolina.
