Helen Kulpeksza

Helen J. Kulpeksza, age, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro, following a period of declining health. She was born August 24, 1923 in Detroit, the daughter of the late George & Josephine (Barniski) Sokol, and came to Caro with her parents as a young girl. Helen moved to Detroit at the age of eighteen to find work, and resided there until returning to Caro in 1988. She was united in marriage with Joseph Kulpeksza on October 2, 1948 in Caro. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1987. During Helens time in Detroit, she was employed at Woodalls Industry for thirty-two years, retiring in 1975. Helen was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro, the Dom Poliski Club, the Womens Extension and the Birthday Club. Surviving Helen are one brother, John Sokol of Caro and many nieces and nephews and caregivers that included Mary Ann Papp, Katherine Romain and Marnie Romain, all of Caro. In addition to her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Chester, Stanley and Edward Sokol; her sister, Julia Brady; and a special friend, Joseph A. Habdas.
