Henry Bohm

Henry Bohm, well known and lifelong resident of Caro, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw at the age of 76. Henry was born November 1, 1942 in Mt. Clemens, the son of the late Henry and Esther Bohm. He was united in marriage with the former Darlene Chapelo and she preceded him in death on June 14, 2011. Henry was a hard worker who held many jobs throughout his life. He will undoubtedly be best remembered for his fifty-seven year career as crossing guard for Caro Community Schools where he took pride in escorting generations of schoolchildren safely on their way. He retired from that position in 2018 but could still be found riding his lawnmower on the streets of Caro, often confounding local traffic enforcement. For many years he assisted Ben Collon at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro and also tended to the yards and gardens of many residents of Caro. Henry is survived by one daughter, Bridgett Wood of Caro; two grandchildren, Dennis Bohm and Lizzie Wood; two great-grandchildren, Sylvia and Alvin; and his special friend, Steve Forbes of Caro. In addition to his parents and wife, Henry was preceded in death by his son, Darrin, in 1989. In keeping with Henry's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Henry Bohm Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Steve Forbes, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
