Henry Edward Gies Jr.

Henry E. Gies Jr., 87, of Linkville passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at Bay County Medical Care Facility.

Hank was born March 18, 1934 in Gagetown to the late Henry and Anna (Mills) Gies. He served in the US Marine Corps in the Korean War. On May 5, 1956 he married Ava Dubs at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Linkville.

He is survived by his wife Ava; children Hazel (David) McAlpine of Pigeon, Susan (Randy) Heilig of Pigeon and Allen of Linkville; grandchildren Andrew, DJ (Megan), and Tim (Alyssa); great-grandchildren Emma, Henry, Hunter and Hollie; step-great-grandchildren Alexis and Levi; sister Shirley Kramer of Unionville; and god-children Marilyn Harris, Patty Diebel and Dawn Kosinski. He was preceded in death by seven sisters.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, June 7th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chris Suggitt. Burial with military honors will be in Grand Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00am Monday and continue until the time of the service.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
