Hilda E. Gawrylowicz, age 82 years, of Caro, was born Hilda Johnson on May 3, 1925 in Westminster, South Carolina. She passed away on Friday, June 29, 2007 at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. Hilda came to Michigan as a young lady and went to work in Detroit during the war effort at Park-Wolverine Company. On June 10, 1944, Hilda was married to Felix Gawrylowicz in Detroit, and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1979. They moved to the Caro area in 1946, and in addition to being a homemaker, Hilda was employed at the Caro Regional Center and the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She loved bingo and playing cards. She is survived by two sons, Bernard (Mary) Gawrylowicz and Robert (Colleen) Gawrylowicz, both of Caro; five grandchildren, Kathryn (Patrick) Moore of Caro, Christina Gawrylowicz of Mayville, Tessa Gawrylowicz of Caro, Angie Cardamoni and Charles Kirkland of Sandusky and Anthony Cardamoni of Caro; nine great-grandchildren, Sydney, Austin, Alexis, Brandy, Dustin, Tristin, Makala, Crymson and Chloe; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Liturgy will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk officiating. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Vigil for the Deceased will be held at the funeral home Monday at 7:00 p.m. Rite of Committal will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Caro. Memorials may be made to Tuscola County Medical Care Facility.
