Howard K. Holland, age 77, of Sebewaing, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 21, 2014 at his daughter's home in Ann Arbor surrounded by family.
Howard was born September 15, 1937 in Sebewaing, the son of the late Oscar and Erma (Anderson) Holland. He graduated from Sebewaing High School and then served in the United States Navy. On November 12, 1960 he married Deanna Schmidt at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing. He worked for various mechanical contracting firms, supervising the plumbing and heating installation in many of the area hospitals and schools in the thumb and tri-city areas. He was a man of faith and a leader in both his church and at Bay Shore Camp, volunteering his skills frequently. He liked to travel, play golf, attend sporting events and spend time with his family.
Howard is survived by his wife, Deanna; children: Kimberly Ann (Scott) Wood, Robin Lynette (Mitchell) Wiley and Stacy Kaye (William) Lis; grandchildren: Garrett Scott Wood, Alexander Holland Wood, Sydney Rae Lis and Delaney Beth Lis; siblings: Odeal DeCaire, June McAlpine and Joyce Winters; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his siblings: Gerald Holland, Roland Holland, Leland Holland, James Holland and Orla Schweitzer.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 4-9pm.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sebewaing.
Memorial donations may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church or Bay Shore Camp.
