Howard Kelley

Howard Kelley, age 81, passed away peacefully Friday, August 3, 2007 at his home, following a brief illness. Howard was born May 17, 1926 in Caro, the son of the late Ernest Samuel Maggie Dulina (Whittaker) Kelley. He married the former LaVonna (Bonnie) Hutchins on August 30, 1947 in Vassar. He later married Patricia Peters Uhl on February 23, 1982. Howard was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear for over thirty-seven years, retiring in April of 1987. Following his retirement, he and his wife moved to South Branch to live. Howard enjoyed restoring old tractors in his spare time and was a former member of the Caro Moose Lodge. In addition to his wife, Patricia, Howard is survived by two sons, three daughters and their spouses, Cheri Hurd living in North Carolina, Bill Barbara Kelley of Linwood, Sue Kelley of Caro, Debbie Dibble of Kingston, Tim Holly Kelley of Caro; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; step-children, Brad, Brent, Brian, Barry and Brooke Uhl and Barbie (Jerry) Rowloff; many step-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Bonnie Fox and many nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by two infant grandsons, two brothers, Leo and Myron Kelley and one step-daughter, Brenda.
