Howard Parsons

Howard J. Parsons, age 98, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw, following a period of declining health. He was born February 29, 1912 on the family homestead outside of Caro, the son of the late James & Augusta (Seelbach) Parsons. Howard was united in marriage with Alice B. Baker on October 30, 1937 in Caro. She preceded him in death on February 25, 2007. Prior to his marriage, Howard worked as a sailor on the Great Lakes, and later worked at Pontiac Motors during World War II. Howard and Alice will be long remembered in Caro as the owners of P. & B. Plumbing and Heating Co. They retired after thirty years of service in 1974. Howard was a member of the Caro Mt. Moriah Lodge #226 F & A M and the Scottish Rite in Bay City. He enjoyed being with his family, hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling and spending winters in Florida. Left to cherish Howards memory are one daughter and her husband, Joanne & James Willis of Frankenmuth; six grandchildren and step-grandchildren and their spouses, Ann & Jerry Hepfer, Brenda & Randy Dunham and Thomas & Michele Zawerucha, Jr., all of Caro, James & Carol Willis of Whitmore Lake, Jack & Debra Willis of Midpines, California, Jeffrey & Shelley Willis of Bad Axe; six great-grandchildren; one son-in-law and his wife, Thomas & Lori Zawerucha, Sr. of Caro and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Howard was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Zawerucha in 1971; two brothers, Kenneth and Kilburn Parsons; and one sister, Goldie Parsons Champion.
