Ida J. Stockmeyer, 97, of Caseville, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Scheurer Health in Pigeon.
Ida Fraternali was born September 26, 1927 in Fairmont, West Virginia to the late Brando and Palma (D’Orazio) Fraternali. She married Otis William “Bill” Stockmeyer on November 26, 1955; he preceded her in death on October 22, 2011. She raised her family in Trenton. After retiring she moved to Caseville and enjoyed spending winters in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She enjoyed her last decade at Country Bay Village in Pigeon.
Ida was a former member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary and a hospice volunteer. Her life revolved around family, cooking, and gardening.
Ida is survived by her children Jeri (Mark) Lathrop of Concord, Ohio, Susan (Chuck) Anderson of Caseville and David Stockmeyer of Linwood; daughter-in-law Amy Stockmeyer of Farmington; grandchildren Ellen (Michael) Mulroy, Betsy (Adam) Moore, Mariah (Nick) Remesz, Traci (Richard) Weisenbach, Tony (Michelle) Wilson, and Jason Stockmeyer; great-grandchildren Vivian Mulroy, Fitz Mulroy, Andrew Moore, Trenton Weisenbach, and Matthew Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews who have been a special part of her life. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings and in-laws.
A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. Interment will be in Caseville Twp Cemetery. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Scheurer Health Foundation to be used at Country Bay Village.
