Obituary

Ila Mae Lorentz, age 95, of Sebewaing, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Courtney Manor Nursing Home in Bad Axe.

Ila was born in Bay Port on December 19, 1922, to Victor and Mary (Boesch) Henne. She married Norman Lorentz on January 26, 1946 at Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Sebewaing. Ila enjoyed her many jobs, working at Jackson's Market and Wright's Pharmacy, both in Sebewaing, General Cable in Cass City and cooked at numerous restaurants in Sebewaing, Pigeon and Caseville. She enjoyed quilting, needlepoint, cooking, baking, working puzzles, gardening and canning. Ila was active in her church and Altar Society. She was a former 4-H leader and a member of the Indian Trails Riding Club.

Ila is survived by her loving children: Kay (Tom) Viers of Pigeon, Noreen (Rod) Tietz of Sebewaing, Norman V. (Mary) Lorentz of Hurst, TX, and Carol (Jim) Stein of Pigeon; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; step sister, Joy Kuhl.

Ila is preceded in death by her husband, Norman on September 3, 2012; parents; 2 granddaughters; 3 sisters and their husbands.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 13, 2018, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-8pm.

The funeral will be Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Our Lady Consolata Parish (Holy Family) in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at11am.
