Ilah L. Brown

Ilah L. Brown of Caro, age 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Satchell's Christian Retirement Home in Caro. She was born June 19, 1920 in Marion, the daughter of the late Charles and Charity (Hopkins) Corner. The former Ilah Corner and Floyd Brown were united in marriage on September 1, 1936 in Marion, and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2005. She was a stay at home wife and mother, who was devoted to her family and church. She was an active member of the Living Waters Chapel in Caro. Ilah enjoyed painting, canning, crocheting and baking. She was known for her Boston brown bread at Christmas time which she gave to all of her family. Ilah is survived by two sons, Hubert "Tex" Brown of Afton, Gordon & Bonnie Brown of Mayville; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and thirteen great- great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Ilah was preceded in death by two sons, infant Russell, Robert and his wife, Joyce; daughter, Edna Touchette and her husband, Howard; daughter-in-law, Janet Brown; granddaughter-in-law, Shari Brown; and a great grandson, Ty. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Living Waters Chapel in Caro with Pastor Jon Terry officiating. Burial will follow at a later time at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Living Waters Chapel in Caro.
