Ilene E. Benn

Ilene E. Benn of Caro, age 87, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro, following a lingering illness. Ilene was born January 25, 1930 in Plant City, Florida, and was a 1948 graduate of Vassar High School. She was united in marriage with Guy Benn on April 24, 1949 in Vassar, and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2004. Ilene was employed with Dibbles, Woolworths, and as a seamstress at Coinette Cleaners for over fifteen years. She was deeply committed to her husband and children, and also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, puzzles, crosswords and taking vacations with her family. She was a member of the Rebekah's for over sixty-eight years. Ilene is survived by three children and their spouses, Gary & Nancy Benn of Caro, Gayl & Robert Bean of Sebewaing, Gregory & Renae Benn of Caro; daughter-in-law, Christina Renee Benn of St. Helen; sixteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Ilene was preceded in death by one son, Guy Benn; and one grandson, Robert Bean. Private family services have been planned and burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Vassar.
