Illa Jean Severn

Illa Jean Severn, age 84, of Unionville, passed away peacefully at Vadavilla AFC Home in Unionville.

Illa was born in Unionville on January 6, 1939, to Orin "Bud" and Sybil Georgia (Gotham) Jubar. She graduated from Unionville High School in 1956 as Valedictorian. She married Herbert L. Severn on May 11, 1957, in Owendale at the Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church. She worked numerous jobs at the USA Elementary School, retiring as a teachers aid after 42 years. She and Herbert enjoyed traveling, visiting 49 states, missing Hawaii. They also enjoyed camping, feeding and watching birds, riding motorcycle, and she loved baking bread and sharing her talent with her grandchildren, who she loved very much.

Illa is survived by her 3 children: Pamela (Tony) Orlik of Fairgrove, Cindy (Warren) Donahue of Sebewaing and Scot (Brenda) Severn of Caro; grandchildren: Casey (Mike) Hickey, Michael (Amber) Orlik, Warren (Liz) Donahue, Katie (Shaun) Gremel, Terry (Stephanie) Donahue, Nicole Severn, Kyle Severn and Colton Severn; great grandchildren: Georgia, Laine, Corbin, Audie, Charliegh, Alekzandre, McKenzie, Brady, Seth, Jenna, Molly and Luke; 1 great great granddaughter, Ellie; brother, Kenneth (Barb) Jubar of Holly; sister-in-law, Tammy Jubar; and nieces and nephews.

Illa is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, John Jubar.

A memorial visitation is planned for June 26, 2023 at the Sebewaing American Legion from 11am-1pm.

Burial will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Sebewaing American Legion, plant a tree in her name or a charity of your choice.
