Inez Magdalene Buchholz, 86, of Elkton, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.
Inez was born September 19, 1937 on the family farm in Lincoln Twp to the late John and Emma (Bouverette) Moeller. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Kinde. In 1953 she graduated from Kinde High School. She graduated in 1956 from Marinello Dermaway University of Beauty Culture in Detroit. On December 3, 1960 she married Clarence Buchholz at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe; he preceded her in death on March 26, 2018. She was a Sunday School teacher for several years until 1974 when they moved to Elkton and joined Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon.
In 1960 she opened Inez’s Beauty Shop on East Huron in Bad Axe. In 1973 she moved her beauty shop to Elkton, behind Don’s Barber Shop. Later she moved her business to her home on Farver Road in Elkton. She loved gardening, dancing to her favorite Polka music and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Kim (Brian) Delpiere of Pigeon, Steven (Debbie) Buchholz of Clarkston and Scott (Vickie) Buchholz of Lake Orion; 7 grandchildren Kylee (Will), Kasey (Matt), Kayla, Emma (Nikola), Jacob, Philip, and Kendal; 4 great-grandchildren Adam, Marko, Henry and Thomas.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, March 9th at Our Savior Lutheran in Bad Axe with Rev. Kenneth Lueke officiating. Burial will be in Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
