Irene B. Ginter, age 93, life long Elkton resident, died Tuesday morning, August 2, at Tender Care, Cass City.
She was born August 21, 1911 at the home of her parents, the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Herford) Ginter in Chandler Twp. She moved into town with her parents when she was a little girl.
Irene started at the Hubbard State bank in Elkton as a teller in 1951, moving up the ranks to vice president of Community Bank, retiring in 1976.
She was a life long member of the Elkton Missionary Church where she was choir director and organist for many, many years.
Irene loved to travel and have fun, at age 65, she rode a camel past the pyramids and on her 90th birthday she took a ride on a jet ski.
Surviving are a niece, Bertie Lou (Don) Secord of Utica and a nephew, LeRoy (Beverly) Schultz of VonOrmy, TX: nine great nieces and nephews; 19 great great nieces and nephews and three great great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, August 4, at the Elkton Missionary Church.
Rev. Larry Salsburey, her former pastor and current pastor of Grace Community Missionary Church, Bad Axe will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton. Memorials may be directed to the church.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton and at the church after 10 AM Thursday.
