Irene Ross

Irene B. Ross, age 86, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Huron Woods Nursing Home in Kawkawlin, following a lingering illness. Irene was born February 11, 1922 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late Albert & Charlotte (Beatty) Elliott. She grew up in Belleville, Ontario and was married to Harold A. Ross in March of 1940. Irene moved to Unionville in 1959 from Peterborough, Ontario, and came to Caro in 1980. Irene was a former member of the Eastern Star in Unionville. She loved playing cards, bingo, knitting for her grandchildren and doing cross word puzzles. Left to cherish her memory are four children and their spouses, Harold H. Ross of Caro, Helen Hardenburg of Peterborough, Ontario, Karen & Randy Coleman of Pinconning, Sharon & Richard Zeien of Gladwin; nineteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Pam of Cass City and several nieces and nephews, all living in Canada. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by one son, John Ross in 1987.
