Irene Vaughan

Irene Vaughan, age 84, of Caro, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Amazing Love Adult Foster Care Home in Caro. She was born on February 3, 1925 in Ohio to the late Joseph and Katalin (Ordog) Szaki. Irene came to Michigan with her family at a young age. She had been employed at the Caro Regional Center until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and sewing. Irene was an active member of the Caro First Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Larry Vaughan of Mayville, Brenda (Ron) Rude of Marquette, Kathy Loehr of Marquette and Cherie (Dan) Rivet of Tecumseh; four grandchildren, Aaron (Nikki) Loehr of Marquette, Jaceley and Amber Rude of Marquette and Carson Vaughan of Mayville; her siblings, Gazella Muska of Caro, Elizabeth Kovacs of Frankenmuth, Julia Muska of Caro, Katie Kosto of Mesa, Arizona, Helen Koprince of Royal Oak and Theresa Weinlander of Shelby Township; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters, Joseph Szerda, Mary Szaki and Rose Ando. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ronald Wigand officiating. Burial will be at Almer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
