Iris R. Geilhart

Iris R. Geilhart, age 73, of Caseville died Tuesday morning, April 25, at Covenant Cooper, Saginaw.
She was born August 8, 1932 in Belleville to the late Lado and Thelma (VanDuzen) Bitnar.
On September 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to Jimmie Geilhart in Romeo. They moved to Lake Twp. in 1973, when her husband, a Lieutenant with the Department of Natural Resources, was transferred to the area. He preceded her in death, January 22, 1989.
Iris was a fun loving person who enjoyed camping, flower gardening, bicycling, bird watching and most of all her cats. She attended Victory in Christ Community Church near Bad Axe; was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, Caseville Retirement Club, Audubon Society and the Pigeon Library Club.
Surviving are four children, Coke Geilhart and his girlfriend, Janice of Pigeon, Kin Geilhart of Arvada, CO, Ric Geilhart and his wife, Carrie of Caseville and Tami Kivel of Owendale; eleven grandchildren, Troy, Tory, Shilo, Shandon, David, Barry, Jessi, Sheana, Chaslyn, Michelle and K J; five great grandchildren, Jayci, Kaden, Kyler, Alicia and Rainy; two sisters, Lorna (Don) Bracken of Belleville and Lois (Dean) Smith of Gladwin.
Preceding her in death were her daughter, Dawn Forster and a sister, Shirley Beer.
Funeral services will be conducted 11;00 AM Saturday, April 29, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville. Rev. Stuart Justin will officiate with burial in St. Roch Cemetery Caseville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 PM Friday and after 10 AM Saturday. Memorials may be given to the Heart Association.
